How to Use PDF Editor Pro for Mac

Wondershare PDF Editor Pro for Mac is a powerful yet affordable tool that enables users to edit, convert, and annotate PDF files (including scanned PDF files) in Mac OS X.

Part 1. How to Create PDF Files

Wondershare PDF Editor for Mac supports saving wepages (.html, .htm, .webarchive), images (.jpeg, .jpg, .png, .bmp, gif, tiff), and text files (.rtf, .rtfd, .text) as PDF documents on Mac. If you like, you can also click "Custom" to decide the quality by yourself. By the way, this "Optimize" option is available in the "File" menu. Part 2. How to Edit PDF Text

To add, modify, or delete PDF text, you have to two choices:

1) Click the Add Text tool in the toolbar and move your mouse over the PDF text. Click on any area on the page you desired to add, modify, or delete text to enter text, correct the error, or click the Backspace to delete text.
2) Click the Touchup Tool in the toolbar. And then double-click on any text in the PDF file to modify the text within editable text block.

Note: When you editing PDF text on PDF Editor (Pro) for Mac, the auto-matching system will match the font directly for you, making the newly added text exactly the same as the original one. For your preference, you might like to select your favorite fonts. In this case, go to the Format Menu > Show Fonts to select a font, size and typeface.

Part 3. How to Insert, Delete, Merge, and Split PDF

On PDF Editor for Mac, users now can insert, delete, merge, and split PDF files. These functions are available in the Document menu. Just click the Document to reveal all these features and click the one you need. Whenever you click the submenu, a pop-up will appear, guiding you through the whole process of doing what you need to a PDF file.

Part 4. How to Add, Edit and Remove Watermark

Go to Document menu > Watermark, select Add Watermark, Update Watermark or Remove Watermark to follow the pop-ups to edit watermark. PDF Editor for Mac supports both text and image watermark.

Part 5. How to Convert PDF to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

To convert PDF to Microsoft Office Documents, Text, EPUB, HTML, just click the Convert tool in the Toolbar. In the pop-up, add PDF file(s), choose your needed format and click Convert.

Wondershare PDF Editor for Mac, the standard version is only able to convert PDF to Microsoft Word. Part 6. How to Annotate and Mark up PDF

1) To add Sticky Note, Text Box, Arrow, Arrow, Line, Rectangle, Oval, Polygon, Cloud, and Free-hand Drawings (with Pencil and Eraser), select suitable annotating tools from the Annotate drop down menu. And then click on the PDF page to add annotations.

2) To mark up PDF text, select the Highlight, Underline or Strikethrough tools in the toolbar. And then select the PDF text on the page to highlight, underline or strikethrough.

Part 7. How to Perform OCR to Scanned PDF (Only available for PDF Editor Pro for Mac)

Open a scanned PDF file with PDF Editor Pro for Mac, and there will be a pop-up window asking you to perform OCR to the current file. Just select the right language of your PDF file and click Perform OCR button. PDF Editor Pro for Mac will recognize the text and make the text editable and searchable in seconds.

Part 8. How to Protect PDF Files with Passwords

To add password to protect PDF files, go to File > Security > Choose "Security Settings". In Security Settings dialogue box, you can set a password to protect the PDF from being opened or restrict people's access to PDF printing, editing or updating.

Part 9. How to Create PDF Forms from Templates (Only available for PDF Editor Pro for Mac)

Wondershare PDF Editor Pro for Mac lets users create professional PDF forms from templates. It's much easier and faster than starting from scratch. After opening a PDF form with Wondershare PDF Editor Pro for Mac, click Edit Form from Form Menu on the ribbon to enter the editing mode. Click to select a type of interactive field, move mouse to the blank area to draw the interactive field.

After adding an interactive field, double click it to enable the properties dialogue box. From this dialogue box, you're able to name the field, customize its appearance, validate data input, etc.

To align added interactive fields, go to Form Menu to select the Align options. To add text to a blank area, explaining the interactive field, click Touchup tool. Then click on the blank area to add new text. After editing a PDF form, you can click "Edit Form" again to preview the newly created PDF form.

Part 10. How to Fill out a PDF Form

When you open a PDF form with Wondershare PDF Editor for Mac (Standard or Pro), all the interactive fields will be highlighted. Just move your mouse over the PDF form to enter info and check the box. It's very easy. To fill in noninteractive blanks with text, click the Touchup tool in the toolbar, move mouse to the blank area, add a text block to enter text.
