How to Use

Wondershare iMate is an easy-to-use yet powerful iOS devices manager to back up and transfer files from iPod/iPhone/iPad into iTunes or to PC. Here is a tutorial on how to use it on Windows, which is put into the following four parts.

To get started, launch iMate with or without plugging in your device.

Part 1: Transfer media files between your iOS device and PC

Click the "Music &Videos" icon in the bottom of the main interface, then you will see the image below:

Transfer Music and Videos from Device

With your device connected, click "Transfer Music and Videos from Device" then select the music/videos you want to back up and click "Start".

Convert music, videos into iTunes/iOS devices

Click "Convert Music and Videos to iTunes/Device" and add your media files into the program then hit "Start". (Audio/video files in any popular formats are supported.) The output format has already been set automatically. Or you can set it by yourself.

Import DVD to iTunes/Devices

Click "Import a DVD" and select the DVD or DVD folder you want to import. You can preview and choose some specific scenes or bonus film clips as you like.

Part 2: Back up and Manage Photos

Click "Photos" – "Manage My Photos on Device". By right-clicking the photo, you can:

  • Save photos to any place you want.
  • Delete any photo.
  • Preview the photos and rotate the photos.
  • Copy and categorize photos taken by camera to other albums.

Part 3: Copy and Manage Books

Click "Books" to enter the book management panel to back up and manage your ebooks.

Transfer Books from Device

Click "Transfer Books from Device"> check the ebooks & audiobooks> hit "Start".

Manage My iBooks Library on Device

Click "Manage My iBooks Library on Device". You now can:

  • Choose "Add" to locate ebooks in EPUB and PDF formats into iPhone/iPad/iPod. All the books will be categorized with the book cover visible.
  • Delete or get information of the ebook.

Part 4: Create and Manage Ringtones

Click "Ringtones" and begin to customize your ringtone library now.

Transfer Ringtones from Device

To back up ringtones to iTunes, you only need chick "Transfer Ringtones from Device" >select the ringtones>press "Start" to start copying your custom ringtones to iTunes.

DIY a Ringtone

Click "DIY a Ringtone" > Select a song>customize iPhone ringtones> "Create". That's it. You can preview the ringtone by clicking imate-diy-ringtone to make sure that's the part you want.

Note: Ringtones should be less than 40 seconds, and manually setting the start time is available.
