Is there anyway to recover data from iPhone without iTunes backup?
I accidentally deleted several contacts from my iPhone 4, and forget to back them up with iTunes. Now I need them urgently, but I've heard that there is no way to recover deleted data on an iPhone except through backup. Is that really? Can I recover data from iPhone itself without iTunes backup? Please help! Thanks in advance.
The saying that there is no way to recover iPhone data without iTunes backup is absolutely wrong. Due to the special technology of iOS devices, it's very hard recover data directly from iPhone itself, but it's not impossible.
This way is good for people who don't have any backup for their iPhones after the data loss, neither on iTunes nor in iCloud. The only way you need to try is directly scanning your iPhone to retrieve the lost data on it. Here is how-to below.
Step 1 Connect your iPhone to scan it
First of all, get your iPhone connected to the computer. When you run the program, you'll see the window on the right once it detects your iPhone. Then you can simply click on the "Start Scan" button to scan your iPhone for deleted data on it.
Note: If yours is an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, you can switch to the "Advanced Mode" throught the button displaying at the lower-right corner of the window. It can bring you a much deeper scan for lost media contents like photos, videos, voice memo, etc.
Step 2 Preview & recover data directly from iPhone 6 Plus/6/5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS/3G
When the scan completes, all data you can get from your iPhone will be displayed in categories as follow. You can preview all of them before recovery to check what you want. Mark them, and click "Recover" button at the bottom, you can save them all on your computer with one click.
Note: Data found here includes what you have on your iPhone now. If you only want to retrieve deleted data from your iPhone, slide the button in the red area at the bottom (Only display the deleted items). Then mark and recover them.
This way is optional for users who have an iCloud acount and have backed up their data to iCloud. You also can try to recover data for iPhone from iCloud backup, when you don't have an iTunes backup file or haven't find the data directly on your iPhone.
Step 1 Sign in your account to download and extract iCloud backup
You have to choose the recovery mode of "Recover from iCloud Backup File" after you run Dr.Fone for iOS on your computer. Then you can directly sign in your iCloud account by putting in the Apple ID and the password. A little while later, you can see a list of all backup files in your account. Choose the one you want to download it, and scan to extract it later. All these only takes you 3 clicks.
Note: Wondershare takes seriously for your privacy. Either the iCloud account or the backup content, Dr.Fone for iOS won't keep any record of them, and the downloaded file is only saved on your own local computer.
Step 2 Preview & selectively recover iPhone data without iTunes backup
Dr.Fone for iOS can help to extract all contents in the backup file. When the scan stops, you can preview them in the scan result as shown on the right one by one. Then tick the item you want to recover and save them on your computer at one time.
