Photos synced from iTunes are saved in iPad Photo Library. To delete them,, you can try the solution 3 in this article. That is to sync photos from a blank folder.

Hi, could you tell us where the photos you sync from? From iTunes? As you know, only photos in Camera Roll can be deleted from computer without third-party tool.
I've got photos on my Ipad2 that were synced. I've since deleted them from computer but still have them on my ipad....and can't delete them. can't uncheck on the sync page since the folder is gone. how can I get rid of these????

You can manually delete albums on your iPad mini.
I want to delete an album in my ipad mini. I seem that the Ipad cant do that. This is stupid. They make it such a hassle even to delete simple album. Ipad is incapable to delete album by itself? You need to connect to freaking itunes to do that?

Does the photos in the albums are moved from Camera Roll? If yes, you delete the photos in Camera Roll, the same photos in the photo album will also be deleted.
Can you delete photos from camera roll but NOT in albums?
