Legal Counsel

As a member of Wondershare’s compliance & law department, you will work on interesting and challenging solicitors’ work related to IP laws, copyrighting, procurement, license agreement and contracts that may address software development, computer technology, marketing and sales, design and creative content as well as other highly complex or sensitive legal matters. Your previous work experience as a generalist with a broad scope of experience in the above areas is essential to this position. Your passion or strength in legislative drafting and researching will serve you well in the work you do.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Handling all kinds of legal issues related to company selling consumer software in North America, including but not limited to marketing and promotion materials, privacy of user information, license agreement, etc., to ensure the business compliance and avoid potential legal risks;
2. Conduct prospective research and study prior to new products developed by the company and to be released, ensure software products can legally enter North American markets;
3. Review and audit all procurement and usage of company’s intellectual property, especially copyrighted materials;
4. Examine all intellectual property involved within software products, prevent any risks of IP laws violations;
5. Responsible for the company's intellectual property applications in North America (Canada, USA).

Qualifications and Requirement:

1. Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a must;
2. 3-5 years’ solicitors’ experience in the area of commercial contracts, IP law, IT law and procurement law;
3. Familiar with North American (Canada, USA) intellectual property application process;
4. Knowledge of North American (Canada, United States) trademark and copyright laws, consumer protection laws;
5. Experience of dealing with legal affairs for software development or Internet companies;
6. Excellent interpersonal and client focused skills – interacts well with all levels of staff and partners with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
