How to Combine Several AVI Files into One

Ever downloaded a movie from the Internet to find the video is split into multiple parts? Want to combine them to a complete one? Well, what you need is an easy-to-use video editing tool like Wondershare Filmora (for Win and Mac). With it, you can quickly combine those split AVI videos in just a few clicks. Now check the step-by-step guide blow to see how to combine AVI files into one.

1 Import your AVI files

Using Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor) could not be easier. Just run this program, select “16:9 Widescreen” or “4:3 Standard” option to the new video file. Then click “Import” to browser and add your AVI files to the Media Pane.

Now all imported files are displayed as thumbnails in the left pane. Shown as belows.

2 Combine these AVI files

Then start combining multiple AVI files together. Drag-n-drop these files one by one to the timeline and make sure they’re in the correct order. Then all files will be joined. By default, there is no transition between each avi file. But if you want to add transitional effect, follow step 3.

3 Add transition between AVI files (optional)

With Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor), you can also add transitions between AVI files to make merged AVI files flow nicely to the next. To do so, go to the “Transition” tab and preview various transitions provided by Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor). Drag the desirable transition to your AVI file and double click it to adjust the settings of duration and more.

4 Export the AVI video file

Now it's time to export the new AVI video. Hit the “Export” button to combine server AVI video clips to a single file. In the “Format” tab, select a specific format from the list. It means that, you can save the file in the original AVI format or convert it to a new format. Wondershare Filmora supports all the popular video formats. If you want to play the new AVI files on iPod, iPhone, iPad and other devices, choose "Device" and select the device thumbnail from the list. You can also directly upload the combined video to YouTube or burn to DVD discs for watching on TV.

When all is ready click the “Export” button to start processing. You will see the progress on the progress bar. When the progress is over, the folder containing the new file will open automatically.
