1. Insert Windows OS DVD on your computer.

I was on my computer trying to add a monitor and click second in device then the screen went dark for a long time. I turned it off the on and the screen said missing operating system will this still work?

How did you ever find this out? I tried it and was amazed how simple it was to repair the problem. My Kudos. Note, if you enter ctl/alt/del when the message occurs, and hit the "esc" button on reboot then select the ST file that is displayed, Windows 7 will boot properly, however this is a pain in the A-- to do every time you shut down.
