I have rather fond memory when it comes to the first Apple device I owned, an iPod nano. It was many years ago, and I certainly can’t even remember what exactly happened to it (I may have lost it or I just simply forgot about it after I got my iPod touch), but the reason that I remember so fondly of my iPod nano is because I bought it with my very first paycheck.
For all of us iPod users, we know that it is incredibly easy to put music and songs into our iPod. But what about getting your music off an iPod? You'll find that's not so easy. Apple's iTunes software only lets you put the music onto the player, and not the other way around and the reason for this built in restriction is to prevent piracy and illicit trading. Therefore, iTunes does not allow transfer of non purchased music and songs from iPod to computer. What can be more irritating is that after stuffing our iPods with non purchased music and songs, (let’s be honest here, who pays $20 for a song no matter how much I want to listen to it), and if our computer crashes, then we will have a really hard to transfer our non purchased music and songs from our iPod to computer manually.
No need to worry, Wondershare is here to help with its best in the market TunesGo Retro program. With the TunesGo Retro program, you can easily transfer non purchased music and songs that are not recognized by your iTunes, from iPod to computer.
Please download the trial version of TunesGo Retro program here and follow the step by step guide below.
Note: TunesGo Retro (Mac) doesn't work well with iPod touch 3. Please click here to learn the supported devices.
Step 1: Launch TunesGo Retro and connect your iPod to your computer
To begin with, run TunesGo Retro on your computer after the installation is complete. Then, connect your iPod to your PC with USB cables. Our TunesGo Retro program will automatically detect your iPod and categorize the content on your iPod on the left side of the user interface. You then can click on the Media tab to access your non purchased music and songs on your iPod.
Step 2: Transfer non-purchased music and songs from iPod to computer
After clicking on the Media tab in the previous step, you should be able to see all your non purchased songs on the right side of the user interface. Now, select all the non purchased songs in your iPod that you wish to transfer to iTunes, by holding down “Ctrl” key on your keyboard while single clicking on all the non purchased songs you wish to transfer. Then, click on the little drop down arrow under the Export to button on the top part of the user interface. At this point in the drop down menu, select Export to My computer and then select the desired location on your computer in the subsequent dialogue box.
