Step 1. Run Wondershare TunesGo Retro (Mac)
Download, install, and run Wondershare TunesGo Retro (Mac). It works well with iMac, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air which are running in Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan), 10.10, 10.9, 10.8, 10.7, 10.6
Step 2. Connect iPhone with Mac
Connect your iPhone with Mac via the USB cable that iPhone comes with. Wondershare TunesGo Retro (Mac) will detect it automatically and display its info in the primary window. TunesGo Retro (Mac) supports iPhone 6S (Plus), iPhone 6 (Plus), iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and iPhone 3GS which are running iOS 9 and iOS 8/7/6/5.
Step 3. Create playlists on iPhone
Click Music on the left side of the Window. And then you can see all audio file types and music playlists are on the right side. Click Add Playlist on the right bottom and give it a name you like. And then you can click the audio file type: Music, Podcasts, iTunes U, Audiobooks, or even Voice Memos to reveal audio files on the left pane. Check the files you want to add to the playlist you just created. Drag and drop these files directly to the playlist on the right side. If you don't want to drag and drop songs to a playlist, you can select songs > right click to select "Add to playlist"> to a specific playlist.
Note: Unlike Wondershare TunesGo Retro (Mac), Wondershare TunesGo Retro (Windows) displays playlists on iPhone in an independent item. To move music from iPhone to a playlist, you can select songs, right click to select "Add to playlist". Find you playlist to import them.
After creating a playlist on iPhone, you can click the playlist to see how many songs are there. If you don't like any of them, you can delete it. And you're able to right click the playlist to rename it. In the future, if you want to remove the playlist from iPhone, you can do it as well.
