Part 1. When do you need to replace the digitizer on your iPhone?

Many persons own an iPhone 3GS, 4, 5 or even the latest iPhone 6 and just like any other mobile device there can be technical issues that must be carefully addressed once they occur if you wish to continue using your device. With an IPhone there can be a wide range of problems, but one of the most common issue that can cause headaches is when your iPhone digitizer malfunctions. The digitizer is the glass panel that actually covers the LCD of the IPhone screen, it converts digital signal to analogue signals in order for the phone to communicate with your input. Once the digitizer is bad or not working, this will of course cause the need for you to go into your pocket and spend some cash if you would like to have a smooth working IPhone once again. When your digitizer malfunctions or isn't working you will probably need to replace it in most cases but there are other situations where you might just be in a bit of luck and can resort to take other measures as it relates to fixing or replacing your IPhone digitizer.

Situations where you might need to replace the digitizer

  • • You get no response from your screen when you try to touch it
  • • Certain parts of the screen respond while other parts do not
  • • The screen is very hard to touch when you try to navigate

You get no response from your screen when you try to touch it

Many times you might try to touch your IPhone screen and only to realize that you are getting no response at all; even when the screen is clearly visible and the phone is powered on. You will now find that you are in a bit of problem with you device. After trying a reboot or factory reset of the IPhone, and you realize that you are still not getting any response at all from the screen when you try to touch it, can prove very much that it is now time for you to replace the digitizer of your IPhone device to get it back to working order.

Certain parts of the screen respond while other parts do not

Another reason why you might need to replace your IPhone's digitizer is if a portion of your screen responds and another portion does not respond. If you are experiencing this you might just need to replace the entire digitizer because once one part of the screen is damaged there is a high possibility that the rest of the digitizer will stop working at some point. So the earlier you replace it, the better it is for you.

The screen is very hard to touch when you try to navigate

Have you ever touched your IPhone device and to your surprise it is does not respond? But on a harder presses you get a response and then you continually have to press it very hard in order to navigate around the device? This can be very frustrating and irritating to you and your fingers, and you might then want to toss your IPhone through your window. Don't panic though as this is a common problem with many mobile devices when the digitizer needs to be changed. Once you replace the digitizer you will then have a working IPhone once again.
