These companies can be a great solution when you want your device back to normal. It is however important to note that not all of them use quality parts or even offer quality repair services. This is the first thing you should do. If the company you are leaning towards isn’t listed on Yelp! Or Google Businesses they may not be the right fit. You should also check for an official website, a functioning Facebook page and an active Twitter account. A company that is reputable will make it easy for you to reach them and leave feedback after the service.

This is particularly important if you are going to be mailing your device to them. It is also important to have at least a phone conversation or email communication with the company before sending your device to them.

Part 2: Ask about Pricing

Price is a major factor when deciding whether you want the device fixed or not. A good repair company will be very open about how much they charge (Yelp, makes it easy to get a quote). If their rates are listed on their website or Facebook page, this is a very good sign. It is also a good idea to check the current market going rates. The rates may vary from one company to another but they should be well within the going market rates.

There are some repair companies that will order a lot of parts from these retailers and therefore get a discount. You should however go for the company that cares more about providing quality service than saving a few bucks on parts.

You should also remember to ask whether the company will warranty its work. A good company will offer a warranty for not only the parts but also the workmanship. Typically the warranty shouldn’t be less than 90 days. They should also be able to give you the right answers in regard to the specifics of the warranty. What does the warranty cover and what is excluded from the warranty?

Also don’t be afraid to ask what will happen should they break your device while fixing it. A good company should be willing to accept responsibility for any damage while they are working on the device.

Part 5: The Time Frame

You should also ask how long they will take to repair the device. The time frame may vary from one company to another but most companies should be able to fix a smashed device or a device with a broken screen in an hour. This means you can wait for the device to be fixed.

If however the problem is a little more involving (like liquid damage), most companies will take anywhere between 1-3 days. So, if you find a company that tells you they will have your device ready in 2 weeks, you should be skeptical about leaving your device with them.

That said, there are exceptional repair companies that are very good at what they do. You just need to have the right set of questions to ask your repairman to help you find out if they are the right person for the job.
