For those who get used to use Window Movie Maker which was included in Windows Vista and XP, they just found it lost. How and where to get it? Actually, Windows Movie Maker has been replaced by Windows Live Movie Maker which was officially released on August 19, 2009. It will not be bundled to Window 7, however, you need to go and download from the Windows Live website, for free.

Here are the system requirements for Windows 7 Live Movie Maker:

• Operating system: Windows Vista or Windows 7
• Memory: 1 GB of RAM (2 GB of RAM or higher is recommended when editing high-definition [HD] video)
• Processor: 2.4 GHz (single processor) or higher (a dual-core processor or higher is recommended when editing HD video)
• Internet browser: Internet Explorer 7 (or later), Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1 (or later), or Safari 3.1 (or later)
• Internet connection: Internet functionality requires dial-up or broadband Internet access (provided separately). Local or long-distance charges may apply.
• Video card: Video card that supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0c (or later) and Pixel Shader 2.0 (or later)
• Additional programs: Windows Live Photo Gallery

There are two options you can choose to download Windows Live Movie Maker:
Option A: Go to the official Windows Live website;
Option B: Also you should note that Windows Live Movie maker now being part of Windows Live Essentials which you can get it from a link within Windows 7. From Start > Getting Started > Get Windows Live Essentials this will take you to the Windows Live Essentials site from where you can download Windows Live Movie Maker and other Essentials Apps.

Part 2. Windows Live Movie Maker tutorial

Step 1. Go to Start –> Windows Live –> Windows Live Movie maker

Step 2. Add photo or videos.

Under the Home Tab, you can either drag and drop your photos and videos from your desktop, or click the Add videos and photos button. Select the images/video you want to add, and click Open. Make sure your files are supported, you can have a look at the Windows Live Movie Maker supported vide formats.

You can add background music to your movie click on Add in Soundtrack section if you want to make your movie better. To remove already added sound with remove button and adjust the volume of the music by adjusting Mix slider.

Step 3. Video editing.

You can simply select the start point by using your preview seek bar/frame browsers and/or thumbnail seek bar and click on "Set start point". To mark the end of the clip, the same can be down, by clicking "Set end point". Do this for all clips on your storyboard, and your movie is edited. Using Trim function you can trim your video from beginning or Ending part, and also you can mute particular video sound using Mute button.

Step 5. Publish your videos and share them with more people.

Now we have successfully created our movie, let's share it with friends and families. You can burn the videos to DVD with Windows DVD Maker or share to YouTube or save as videos for playback.

To make a sharable version of your movie, navigate to Home tab, in ‘Make a movie ‘section, you will find two options:
a. Outputting your movie as a video file that's saved on your computer.
b. Sharing your movie by publishing it on the web to Soapbox on MSN Video.
