Hi Peter, ISO is an archive file format that stores uncompressed data. It's a true digital copy of the original. ISO image files can be created from optical discs (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) or from a collection of files by ISO image creation software. ISO file can be opened with any file archiver, converted to other formats, and burned to discs with most disc burning software.
