How to Restore Deleted Partition and Restore Deleted Data in It
What is partitioning?
Partitioning is to divide mass storage (for example, hard disk) into isolated sections, and each section is a partition, such as C/D/E/F drive. Generally speaking, C drive is the system partition where we install operating systems. Partitioning is particularly useful if we run more than one operating system. For example, you might allocate one partition for Windows XP and another for Windows 7.
How to restore deleted partition?
"I installed Windows XP on a new hard drive yesterday. There are 2 external hard drives connected to my PC.I was asked to enter the drive to install it during the process. But I mistakenly deleted the partition of that drive. My laptop can now realize my external HDD, but I am unable to open it. Can I restore deleted partition and my data?"
The answer is YES. Then why we can restore deleted partition and my data?
It depends on the partition table and boot sector that whether system can realise the partition or not. If partition boot sector is deleted or damaged by virus, the partition will be invisible, in other words, you think that you have deleted the partition and lost the data in that deleted partition.
But actually, the data remains there, and they are just inaccessible that you can't find them on My Computer. partition recovery module of Wondershare Data Recovery can analyze the whole hard disk and detect the deleted partition, after that you can restore deleted partition and get back your important files.
It is safe to use for only recovering your partitions through recover partition table or boot sector, which means the software will never attempt to write data on the partition which you want to restore. Besides, the trial version will show you the lost/deleted partition, and full version lets you restore it.
Here let's take the Windows version as an example. Launch Wondershare Data Recovery, select Standard Mode, go to Partition Recovery on the main interface. This partition recovery can find back your lost, deleted or damaged partitions, as well as the data stored on it.
Select a physical drive where you lost your partitions. Then click on "Next" to scan your lost partitions.
When the scanning completes, all your lost partitions on the disk will be displayed, and now you only need to select one that you are going to recover by hitting on "Start".
Now you are here to recover the lost data on the partition. If the partition is large, it'll take you a quite long time for scanning. After the scan, all the results will be automatically organized in file types. You can check them all for recovery, or get them back selectively.
Before doing the recovery, you can preview photos, Words, PDF, PPT, ZIP files, etc. to check the quality and confirm whether you need them back or not. When you are recovering, please save them on another disk, in case you overwrite the disk. If you don't find back the files you want, you can try it in other ways. But if you overwrite your disk, the files will be permenantly erased.
