How to Add Subtitle to MKV Files in Mac/Win (Windows 10 included)

MKV is a container format that can include video, audio, subtitle and other information. Step 1: Import your MKV video

Launch this program, select "16: 9" or "4:3" aspect ratio, you'll come to a very intuitive primary window, show as belows. To import your source AVI movie, simply click "Import" to browse your file folder on computer or drag your AVI videos directly to its primary window. is there a way to add scrolling text (subtitle) to the video using wondershare video converter?
I use Wondershare Player to add subtitle to the video. It dosen't change anything in video!

i have the same problem, can you upload a generic solution for this? everybody would be able to solve by themselves.
I did this with an SRT file, but only some of the subtitles were added. It took a few hours for a two hour video file. Most of the subtitles do not seem to have been written but the SRT file is complete.
Using the video converter mentioned in the article, you can add a subtitle to your MKV file, but you can't remove the added subtitle from the MKV file which you called is a hard subtitle.
