DVD Shrink Alternative

DVD Shrink is a popular choice of software for users to create a backup of their DVD files or discs. It can also be used simultaneously with another DVD burning software. Other than giving you the flexibility to author your DVD, DVD Shrink is also capable of compressing your original video files that might be too large to fit onto a single DVD. There are, however, some common issues that keep popping up such as error in reading file, audio issues, burning problems, loss of quality and etc.

Instead of shrinking, creating a backup and then burn your DVD files or discs with different software, you might as well resort to the Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate. It will be your ideal DVD Shrink alternative! Apart from being able to backup, author and burn your DVD video files, you can do much more with all features packed into just a single software. Please follow the guide below on how you will be able to edit, compress and create a backup copy as well burn a DVD. You can also read more about the alternative to DVD Shrink for Mac.

Step 1: Add files or Load DVD

If you have the DVD video files in an ISO file image, VOB file format or accompanying IFO files, simply click Add Files or drag-and-drop the files onto the Video Converter Ultimate. You just need to click on Load DVD if it’s a physical DVD disc.

In order to adjust the parameters for your video files such as frame and bit rate for both your video and audio file, you can access the Settings icon just above the Convert button.

Note: Please ensure that you’re in the Convert main window if you wish to have your final output file in a softcopy. Navigate to the Burn window to burn a DVD as the interface and steps required might be slightly different, yet user-friendly.

Step 2: Edit video files or author DVD

There’s an Edit icon right next to your uploaded video files for you to keep or delete the selected scenes. You can also adjust the volume, level of brightness, contrast or saturation. If you need to add subtitles to your video files, simply click on Subtitle. If you need to redo the edits, there’s the Reset button at the bottom-right corner of the interface.

Note: You’ll have extra authoring features if you wish to burn a DVD such as adding your favorite music to the background, select a template or cover for your DVD, set the quality of video, aspect ratio and much more.
