Watch side-by-side 3D video on PC or 3D-TV
To view side-by-side 3D video on PC or 3D-TV, you’ll need: 3D PC or TV, 3D media player, a 3D compatible monitor or TV, and a pair of 3D glasses for each viewer. Read on for detailed instructions.
On PC with display card supports 3D and 3D monitor
Most 3D-Monitor comes with 3D media player and you can just use it to play 3D video, or choose any other third-party player if you like. Make sure that you choose side-by-side mode in 3D media player configuration settings. In most cases, the video will play like a charm. If not, try swapping left and right eye images in 3D display configuration of the 3D media player.
On 3D-TV
Before 3D conversion from 2D, check your 3D-TV compatible format first and make sure that you choose a compatible video format. Most 3D-TV supports MP4 and WMV video format.
Here are three ways to watch side-by-side 3D video on 3D-TV, depending on the source to deliver 3D video to TV. You can use your PC, hard drive or DVD player to stream 3D video to TV.
1. Use 3D- TV as external monitor for PC
3D-TV can be used as external monitor for your PC (display card supports 3D). To do the trick, you’ll need a video cable to attach PC to 3D-TV, generally via HDMI/DVI/VGA provided with your TV. The cable needed varies depending on the ports your PC and 3D-TV support. You’ll need an adapter if your port on PC is not the same as the port on 3D-TV.
Once you have the necessary cable/adapter to reach from your PC to the 3D-TV.
- Step 1: Turn off both the 3DTV and the PC. Connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer to ensure it recognize TV as external display.
- Step 2: Once the startup finished, your 3D-TV will become external monitor. The playback will be the same as above instructions on how to watch 3D video on PC.
2. Stream 3D video to 3D-TV via hard drive
Some 3D-TV’s USB port supports 3D content decoding, so you can load 3D videos to your hard drive or flash drive via USB and then hook up to your 3D-TV.
3. Use DVD player to stream 3D video to TV
If your 3D-TV’s USB port does not support 3D content decoding, you can just connect your portable hard drive to hardware media player, like DVD Player and Blu-ray Player, and let it stream 3D content to your 3D-TV.
