Nice tutorial. I wonder if there is a way to completely remove subs from MKV for several files automatically? What happens is that the Xbox 360 doesn't like MKV with subs track.

That was my question as well, I'll check your links but it seems like this program only dumps out the MKS file - I think the pervious version that worked as a GUI could extract as an SRT, but I could not get that version of the program to work, and it's not supported any longer. The new version works from within MKVmerge.

Usually idx and sub files can just be dropped into the content folder, give it the exact name as the media and use VLC to play it, it will load those files with the content, so there is no real need to hard code it into the content file. Are you trying to add the idx and sub files? They have to be converted to MKS I think. I'll have to check the help links for doing that.

Works Great! I had an MKV with no subs, and another of lesser quality with perfect subs. My idea was, I extract the subs from the poor one and put them in the better one, which works like clockwork. However: The better copy was MKV'd at a higher bitrate (48/second) and the lower was only 24. So: I tried this twice, the Subs were copied out as an MKS file which I was able to import and remux into the better quality content: But the result was that content ended up with the lower bitrate. It is not that bad, because the quality is still better, but I'm wondering, I lost the higher bitrate because of the Subs from the poor copy was 24/s? Is there any way to extract the subs as an SRT file? I noticed all kinds of coding in the MKS file I suppose it contained framerate info as well. Anyway, this works great, I suppose I can fiddle with it. I get lots of content that is poor but has great subs and content that is great but no subs and I can't find the right SRT file for it at my usual Sub haunts. This is great, and it's fast, I don't have to spend hours doing it, its about 5 minutes tops per media file, less if it's just a sub extraction. Ah... I get it now, I did not move the GUI into the MKVmerge folder, I'm extracting the SRT file right now. I don't really have to code it in, I can just drop it into the folder and VLC will add it automatically,
