Dead iPhone Data Recovery: Recover Data from Dead iPhone
Recovering data from dead iPhone 4
My iPhone 4 went completely dead yesterday. It wouldn't take a charge, nothing it just died. I took it to the Apple store and they pronounced it dead. I had recently backed it up when I installed iOS 5. My question is, is it possible to recover the photos and videos that resided on it? I didn't sync it with iTunes recently. Any suggestions?
My iPhone is dead. If you search it online, you'll find lots of people looking a solution to recover data from their dead iPhone. After all, the device has been dead, saving the data is urgent. Well, to recover data from dead iPhone, you need the help of a third-party program, which can help to directly scan your iPhone and take data on it. If you don't have a choice yet, here is my recommendation: Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS(iPhone Data Recovery) (Mac) (available for Mavericks) or Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS(iPhone Data Recovery) (Windows). This dead iPhone data recovery software can help to recover data including contacts, SMS, photos, videos, notes, and more.
Download the free trial version below to have a try.
The guide below is based on the Windows version of the software. Mac users can read the user guide of the Mac version here.
Step 1. Connect your dead iPhone to the computer
Launch the Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS software after you download and install it on your computer, then connect your dead iPhone to the computer with a digital cable. It doesn't matter, even it doesn't work. Just do it. After connecting your iPhone, you'll get an interface as follows.
Step 2. Scan your dead iPhone for data on it
For iPhone Plus 6/6/5S/5C/5/4S users, you only need to click the "Start Scan" button to scan your iPhone. While for iPhone 4/3GS, you can go to the Advanced Mode to scan your device by following the steps below and do it correctly:
- Hold your dead iPhone and click the “Start” button.
- Press the Power and Home buttons on your dead iPhone at the same time for exactly 10 seconds. The Software will count time for you.
- When 10 seconds have passed, release the Power button right away, but keep holding the Home button for another 15 seconds.
After that, you'll be told you've successfully entered the device's scanning mode and the software begins scanning your iPhone now.
Step 3. Preview & recover data from dead iPhone
The scan will stop after a few minutes. Found data will be displayed in categories, such as Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Contacts, Messages, etc. You can preview each of them one by one, and mark those you want to save them on your computer by clicking "Recover".
Note: The data found in each category includes those deleted recently. You can check them by sliding the button on the top: Only display the deleted items.
