How to Recover Deleted Photos from Android Phones and Tablets
There are several reasons why you would lose photos on your Android device. The most common one is accidental deletion. Whether you do it yourself or your child suddenly taps delete on your Android device, this is the most common way to lose photos as well as other data on your phone. Another way you can lose photos on your device is if you stored them on your MicroSD and then you lose the storage device. This happens more often that you think and is one of the most debilitating ways to lose data because it is almost unsalvageable.
But perhaps the least common but very serious way to lose your photos and other data on your phone is when the data on your Android phone is suddenly overwritten. It doesn’t happen often but when it does, it is very likely that you will not get the data back.
The above reasons are precisely why you should have a backup of all the data on your phone. This way, if you lose it, you can easily get it back. But if you happen to lose your photos and you don’t have a backup, there are still ways you can get your photos back.

How photos are saved on the Android Phones and Tablets
There are typically two ways that most people will save photos on their phones. They will either use external memory card or internal memory.
1. External Memory Cards
Most people favor this form of storage because they often think that the photos are salvageable and can be retrieved from the phone or device at any time. While this is very true, it is also true that should your MicroSD card dislodge from the phone at anytime, you stand the chance of losing the small storage device. Losing your SD card means you lose all of your photos as well.
2. Internal Memory
Most of the time people don’t choose to use the internal memory on their phones; it is often a default choice. While it may be easy to just allow your phone’s storage to store all your photos, it is a more dangerous proposition. So many things could happen to lead to the loss of your photos. You could accidentally delete them or an overwrite could result in the loss of all your photos.
How to avoid losing photos on Android

Android devices have a backup and restore settings that use your Google account. This is why you will be asked for your Google ID and password when setting up your Android device. Therefore you can use Google Back up to backup your photos easily. Here’s how. Before we describe the process, it is important to note that your Google Backup will be automatically updated every time you take photos.
To set up the syncing, click on Photos and then select settings.
Then choose auto backup and turn it on, if it isn’t already on.
