One Click to Activate and Start Using Facebook Timeline
Announced on F8 conference and tested in Developer mode for several months, Facebook Timeline now is available for everyone. See how to activate Facebook Timeline in one click and get tips about how to use Facebook Timeline. Note that once it's activated, it's hard or finally impossible to get rid of it, although you can disable Facebook Timeline temporarily.
One Click to Activate Facebook Timeline
Before Facebook Timeline was officially released, it had been much harder to install Timeline. But now, just go to About Facebook Timeline page and click the Get Timeline button. Done. Next, you will need tips about how to use it.
By default, you get a 7-day preview of your Facebook Timeline before it's published to public. During these period, you are suggested to review what's on your timeline, and add or hide whatever you want. By clicking Publish Now button, your Timeline profile will go live immediately.

Purify Your Facebook Timeline
Before your Facebook Timeline goes live, you can make it perfect through:
- Edit or remove any item you don't want to show: mouse over an item and choose the edit tool.
- Feature an item to make it expand across the page.
- See how your Facebook Timeline appears to a specific friend or publish by clicking Settings/View As option under Cover Photo.
Customize Your Cover Photo
Facebook Timeline provides a large space on top for a personalized cover photo. You can easily upload or choose a photo from Facebook album, or find a cool one on CoverPhotoFinder.com which is established by two former Facebook interns.
Share a Video on Timeline
While the Facebook Timeline helps you document your entire life, a photo or a video is worth a thousand words. The Photo tab allows you to upload photos/videos or capture from a webcam. It's also a good idea to make a video with your favorite music and photos to share on Timeline, just like this sample (click to play):

Control Your Privacy
Facebook really respects your privacy online. As described above, you have a 7-day preview to modify your Timeline. Plus, whenever you update your status, or upload a photo, the privacy settings is available, just next to the Post button. Apart from all these, Facebook enables you to set up a permission level for everything you post, from public or to 'Friends of Friends' to only visible by Friends to only you. Before publish Facebook Timeline, double check your privacy settings if it matters. But isn't it now a world living in public?
Use Activity Log
Different from Timeline, Activity Log is only available to you and shows you everything you've done on Facebook. It's something of the back-end of Timeline, which let your control all your activities on Facebook.
