Create PDF Files with Google Documents

Step 1. Login in Google Docs. Log in Google Docs with your Google account. If you do not have a Google account, click the Sign up button on the very right top of the Google Home page to create one. And then enter Google Docs.

Step 2. Upload or Create a file. Now you can click the Upload icon on Google Docs Home page to upload the file that you're going to generate to PDF format. Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, forms are all supported. If you do not have any prepared files, just click the CREATE button to create a new file on Google Docs.

Step 3. Generate the file into PDF format

Press Ctrl + S to save the file first and then go to File > Download as >PDF. The moment you click PDF, a dialogue box will pop up, asking you to set your preferences for the output PDF file. Just set your  preferences  and click OK.

The above mentioned is all about how to create PDF via Google Docs. However, as you could see, the output PDF is like a plain text, without any image, graphic. This is why I do not like Google Docs. When saving Google document as a PDF file, the original file formatting and layout are lost. To solve the problem, I suggest you use Wondershare PDF Editor to create PDF file. Click the download link to download Wondershare PDF Editor trial version. After you get the .exe file, double-click it to install it on your computer.

Step 2. Create a PDF file

Launch Wondershare PDF Editor. And then go to the 'Home' menu, click the From File icon to enable the creating PDF dialogue box. In the new dialogue box, open the file you desired to save as PDF file and save it as a PDF.

Dear Laurkell, Only on Wondershare PDF Editor Pro for Mac, you can fill in the PDF form. Otherwise, you cannot insert any text into the PDF file. It is like that when you edit a Word document, you need to open it Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Hope it helps :)

Hi. Thanks for this excellent info about Google Docs. I have created a fillable form using their forms, and I would like to have a PDF of my form to place on my site. But when I go to File there is no Download As (in either Firefox or Chrome—maybe because I'm on a Mac?). So I used the Print Preview method and while it will save it as a PDF all the fillable parts of the form are missing. Is this where Wondershare comes in?
