Step 1. Disable iTunes Automatic Syncing

Step 1. Make sure your iTunes is the latest version, if not, download it here. Launch it. Click the File menu of your iTunes and select Add to Library. Browse songs on the local drive of your Mac and add them to iTunes.
Step 2. Click the View menu of your iTunes on the top and select Show Sidebar from the drop-down list. By doing this, you'll see all your file types are listed in order on the left side.
