Of course! i have been searching high and low for a solution to this and the solution is so simple! I use Adobe Lightroom for photo management on my computer, and i just realised that it can import all images directly from from a usb plugged iphone. All done in two clicks. Sweet. I feel so embarassed to have used dropbox sync for my iphone backup in the past. Dropbox remains a fantastic sync tool for all other purposes though.

Sorry but iPhone 4S isn't currently supported by iMate.

isn't supported by what? I have a PC running Windows 7 and it automatically installed the device drivers needed to open as an external drive as described above. I just copied my pictures this way about 2 minutes ago. iTunes (version 10.6.1) is worthless for transferring photos which makes NO SENSE at all... C'mon Apple, get with the program, everyone with an iPhone is now using it for taking TONS of photos.

iMate can transfer photos from and to iPhone/iPod/iPad. To transfer from computer to iPhone, just go to "Photos > Manage My Photos on Device" and click "Add" button to choose photos on computer, and transfer to iPhone.

No need to buy anything. The iPhone 4S will come with a USB cable to connect it to PC and Mac. But iPhone 4S isn't supported at the moment, sorry.

Ummm, just hook up the phone like a removeable drive. go to start, computer, apple iPhone, dcim, and file folder. Select the first picture, scroll down to the last picture, hold shift and press enter. Right click any picture (NOT a white/blank spot), choose "copy". Create a new folder anywhere on your computer, right click on new folder and click PASTE. DONE. No need for any third party software, as YOU are the "third party". Thank you and goodnight. :-D
