How to Install Mac OS X Lion

0

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is just around the corner, and here we’d like to say something about the installation of the Mac Lion.

  1. Time: July is the rumored to be the month Lion would be available.
  2. Price: $29.99
  3. Installation place: Mac App Store.

Mac requirements:

  1. Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
  2. 2GB of RAM
  3. Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later with the Mac App Store installed

First of all, it’s where you can get Lion-Mac App Store. So you need guarantee there is Mac App Store in your Mac, but the application, say, App Store is only installed in Mac with Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. That’s to say, if you still have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Tiger or PowerPC or earlier, you first need to update your Mac operating system to Snow Leopard to get the Mac App Store.

Second thing is the processor. Your Mac should be Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor. In other words, your Mac should be purchased in or after middle of 2007. Got the Mac earlier? Well, there is no other way to get Lion for you but only to wait for days and then purchase a new Mac with Lion installed this summer.

Then if the Mac is sure to be the possible one for installing Mac OS X Lion, you then launch Mac App Store then download Lion for your installation.

Tip for Multiple Macs

If you have multiple Macs, you can install Mac OS X Lion on any Macs authorized with the Apple ID you used to purchase the Operating System. (Well, I’m curious about that if I quit the Apple ID on one Mac, can the system run or not. I guess the answer is yes.) This is quite different with Snow Leopard installation – only one Mac is allowed to be updated.
