Step 1.  Rip the DVD files for Wii Console

    no, billswaby is right....I just did this too, and copied the files over to the SD card, but they aren't in the right format for the wii....they will play on windowsmedia player...and yet, I picked game system wii for the conversion

    DVD is a format. A movie is a movie whether it's in avi, mpg, dvd, blue ray, or mp4 format. A wii cannot play a dvd movie because it does not support the dvd format.

    You need a card reader to read and write files on Wii's SD card. When conversion complete, go to the output folder (click "Open Output" for your convenience), and copy the files to SD card. At last, remove the SD card from your computer, stick it in the console, and play DVD movies on Wii.

    The Wii can play DVD ( not just MPEG like this guide details ) It involved hacking your wii and using Homebrewe to get it working, once sorted it works a treat :

    that's not playing a DVD, that's playing an MPEG. Can the Wii play DVDs? No it can't.
