How to Save Video from iMessage to a Windows Computer or a Mac

Received funny videos from your family or friends via iMessage, and want to save them to your computer? Or you can't save videos from iMessage to your computer? Don't worry. That's easy. Step 1. Run the program and connect your iPhone

Step 2. Enter the scanning mode to scan your iPhone

For iPhone 4/3GS users, you need to follow the way below to enter the device's scanning mode before the scan:

1. Hold your device, and click "Start" on the window.
2. Hold the Power and the Home buttons on your iPhone at the same time for exactly 10 seconds.
3. Release the Power button when 10 seconds have passed, but keep holding the Home button for another 15 seconds. When the program tells you that you've entered the scanning mode, you can release it. Then the program will start scanning automatically.

For iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S users, you don't need to do the steps above. Directly click the "Start Scan" button on the main window and the program will begin scanning your iPhone for data on it.

No matter which iPhone you use, you'll see the window below when the scan begins.

Note: During the scan, you can begin to preview found data. When you've found that the data you want has been scanned out, you can pause or stop the scan at any time.

Step 3. Preview and save iMessage video files

After the scan, the program will present you a scan result as follows, where you can check all found data on your iPhone, such as camera roll, photo stream, contacts, etc. For videos from iMessages, you can click "Messages" to preview the content. If you only want the videos from iMessages, you can choose "Message Attachments". Mark those you want to save to your computer and click "Recover".

Part 2: Extract iTunes backup to save video files from iMessage on iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS

Step 1. Sync your iPhone with iTunes to make a backup

If you want to extract iTunes backup to save your iMessage video files, you need to have an iTunes backup at first. If you don't know whether you have, you can connect your iPhone to the compute and sync it with iTunes to make one. It's very easy and takes you a few minutes. After finishing it, please exit iTunes on your computer.

Step 2. Extract your iTunes backup

Run the program on your computer and switch to the option: Recover from iTunes Backup File. Then you'll get a window as follows. Here, all your iTunes backup files are automatically found and displayed. Choose the one for your iPhone and click "Start Scan" to extract it.

Step 3. Preview and save video files from iMessages

When the scan completes, you can preview and check data in the iTunes backup now. For video files from iMessage, you can choose "Message Attachments", which only presents you the media content from your iMessage. If you want to check the whole iMessage contents, you can choose "Messages". Then mark what you want and save them on your computer by clicking "Recover".
