If you uninstall IE how do you then, without a browser, navigate to the official website to download it again? And my whole problem with IE is that sometimes I cannot download files from websites or print from IE. Among other small quirks, I also cannot open Internet Options in Control Panel...currently running XP and have not found a fix yet across the net. Also, I clicked on the "official site" and not only did the site have a lot of dashes (-) but also had many [] [] [] 's instead of words. By holding the cursor over I can tell where it may lead me by the address it displays
