How to Recover iPhone MMS from Backup

Restore SMS/MMS from iPhone 4?

Hi. While I was away on honeymoon, I was composing an MMS and suddenly my iPhone screen went black and restarted... phone seemed fine after, but when I checked my message history all SMS/MMS had been deleted. All other content was unaffected. Does anyone know what I need to do to restore just my SMS/MMS from an iOS4 backup?

If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes, actually you can restore it from iTunes backup, but it restores everything. If you just want to restore your SMS/MMS, you need to rely on an iPhone recovery tool that can help you to recover your iPhone content from backup selectively.

There's no need to find such software anywhere else, just get it here: Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac), or Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Windows). The software empowers you to extract and recover iPhone MMS/SMS within 2 steps, and you can preview the whole content before recovery. Want to check details? Read on.

Note: Currently, both Windows and Mac versions of the software allow you to directly recover files from iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS without backup file.

Download the free trial version below and install it on your computer.

You can save recovered messages to local folder with one click.

If you're using a Windows computer, you could try Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS and recover your messages in some similar steps, or you can use the program directly scan your , iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS and recover data from the device if you don't have an iTunes backup.

I am sorry but Wondershare Dr.Fone does not support transferring recovered data back to your iPhone. You can come to Internet to find some ways to do so. Ps: you can easily sync the recovered contacts with your iPhone from Windows contacts.
WHAT TRANSFER TOOL? i finally (andthankfully) got my information restored onto my computer, had to restore my iphone ( cuz APPLE SUCKS! ) and my messages from the backup itunes did before it f***ed up my phone with the update failing, didn't tranfer over too. BUT dr. fone saved my messages in the folders it extracted all the info it found on my phone into. NOW how can i go into my phone and put that data back into it to restore all the previous messages? isnt that the point of the weird extracted files the information gets put into, so that you can use a program to put it back into your phone? please tell me this is possible. ajfldkfj gah i am so angry. almost two full days of my life wasted trying to figure out how to get my phone back to normal cuz APPLE DOESNT MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO DO ANYTHING RIGHT OR ANYTHING. ok sorry. venting.
From your description, your iTunes backup was made after you had deleted the message, it did not exist in that backup actually. Recovery from iTunes backup won’t help you much in this condition. If you are using an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, you have another choice: Recovery directly from iOS device. If it has not been overwritten by new data, you can possibly get it back.
Last night I accidentally deleted a message sent to me by an old friend. This morning i backed up my phone and then followed all of the steps listed. The most recent message available was weeks ago. is there a reason why my newer messages weren't available?
If you want to direct scan your iPhone 3G, Dr.Fone currently doesn't allow it, but it allows you to extract your iTunes backup and recover previous data from it if you have a need.
Is there any way to do this MMS recovery in the 3G version? Regards
No, it doesn't. You can only save them on your computer. To back them to your iPhone, you need another transfer tool.
But this doesn't allow you to restore them directly to your phone does it?
