How to Recover Deleted Text Messages from iTunes Backup Files
How can we recover messages from iTunes backup files?
When it comes to recover messages from an iTunes backup, the easiest way is directly restoring the whole backup to your iOS device. In this way, you can get all data back to your device, including messages. The precondition is that there is no important data on your device, so that it's OK to overwrite your device by restoring the backup.
What if you can't make a restore on your device or you just only want back messages from the backup, not other data in it? You should change the way: use an iTunes backup extractor. With this kind of tool, you can extract the inaccessible iTunes backup and view the details in it. Then selectively recover whatever you want from it. This is what you want? Please read on to check it in steps.

As to the iTunes backup extractor, you can have my recommendation here: Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) or Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Windows). Both of the programs can help to extract all your iTunes backup files (excluding encrypted ones), and let you preview the content of messages before you recover them. You can complete the whole work in two steps, no skills and requirements needed.
