How to Recover Data from Broken iPhone
How to recover data from my broken iPhone
I have broken my iPhone 4. Thing is, it still turns on and is recognized by iTunes but I cannot input the password because of the screen. It's smashed into pieces. Do you think it's possible to recover my contacts, photos, SMS, etc. that i did not back up from it? Your advice will be very appreciated.
No one likes the suffering, indeed, and hope you can feel a little better when you're here reading this article, because your data on the iPhone is not smashed. You still can recover it from your broken iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, or iPhone 3GS. But if yours is other version of iPhone, you'd better have a backup on iTunes.
First of all, get an iPhone data recovery tool here: Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) (available for Mavericks) or Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Windows), which allows you to directly scan your iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and recover contacts, SMS, photos, videos, call history, notes, etc. in 3 steps. Never mind how badly your device is broken, as long as you can enter the device's scanning mode. You can also recover previous data via iTunes backup.
Download the free trial version below to have a try.
Step 1. Run Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Windows or Mac version)
Before doing anything else, run the program on your computer. Then connect your iPhone to the computer. Here, let's try the Windows version. When your iPhone 5/4S is detected, you'll get the interface as follow.
If yours is iPhone 4/3GS, you'll see the window below after it's detected. In this case, you need to download a plug-in according to your device's mode. It's very simple. You can finish it in a few minutes by clicking the "Download" button.
Step 2. Scan your dead iPhone for data on it
In the interface above, there are three steps displayed telling you how to enter the iPhone 4/3GS' scanning mode. Follow it and do it with your iPhone. What you should pay attention is immediately holding the Power and Home buttons at the same time after you clicking "Start". Then waiting for 10 seconds (the program will count it for you), you can release the Power button but keep holding the Home button. Then you'll get into the system successfully, and the program will automatically scan the data on your iPhone.
If you use iPhone 5/4S, you don't need to do these steps. Directly click the "Start Scan" button and the program will scan your iPhone for data on it.
Step 3. Preview & recover data directly from youriPhone 5/4S/4/3GS
Actually, you can begin to preview found data during the scan. All files are categoried as Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Contacts, Messages, Call History, and more. You can selectively recover them all with one click by pressing the "Recover" button at the bottom if you have such a need.
