How to Save iMessage Conversations to a Computer
I want to save iMessage history including attachments on my iPhone to the computer, so that I can copy or send it to my Email. Is it possible? I use iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1. Thanks:)
Still save iMessage from iPhone to PC or Mac by making a screenshot of it? Stop it now. The great way to save iMessage on iPhone is saving it as a readable and editable file, not a picture. You can't do it before, but you can do it now. With an iMessage export tool, it's a simple work.
Don't know where to find an iMessage exporting tool? Have my two recommendations here: one is Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Windows) or Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) (available for Mavericks). With it, you can fully scan and save iMessages conversions from on your iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS, all iPads and iPod touch 5/4. Besides, both versions help find your deleted iMessage contents directly from iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The other is Wondershare TunesGo. It lets you save iMessages with attachments as a HTML/XML/TXT file. Just have a try to check whether they're what you want or not.

If you're a Windows user, please choose the Windows version for your iPhone. Saving iPhone iMessage to your PC or Mac can be done in a similar way. Next, let's try how to complete the work with the Windows version together.
Step 1. Connect your iPhone to the computer
When you run the program, you'll see the main window on your computer as follows. Then connect your iPhone via a USB cable.
For iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, The new iPad, iPad 2 and iPod touch 5 (no message attachments):
For iPhone 4/3GS, iPad 1 and iPod touch 4 (including message attachments): You can choose the Advanced Mode to enter a higher scan mode.
Step 2. Scan iMessage on your device
If you use iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, The new iPad, iPad 2 or iPod touch 5, you can directly click Start Scan on the window above to scan it.
If you use iPhone 4/3GS, iPad 1 or iPod touch 4, you need to enter the device's scanning mode. You can do it as the description on the window, or follow the way below:
1. Hold your device, and click Start on the window.
2. Hold the Power and the Home buttons on your iPhone at the same time for exactly 10 seconds.
3. Release the Power button when 10 seconds passed, but keep holding the Home button for another 15 seconds.
When a message saying that you've entered the mode successfully pops up, you can release the Home button. Then wait for a moment, the program will automatically scan your iPhone after analyzing it. At that time, you'll see the window below.
Step 3. Preview and save iMessage history to your computer
The scan will consume you a little time. After it, you'll get a scan report as shown on the window below. Here, choose Messages, and then you can preview all your message contents, including iMessage and the attachents. Mark them and you can save your iMessages on the computer as a HTML file. By the way, you can go the Message Attachments to separately save the media content from iMessage.
Note: The program can recover deleted data from iPhone. Hence, notes found here include those deleted recently and that currently existing on your iPhone. You can use the button on the top to separate them: Only display the deleted items.
