How to Recover Data from Formatted Cards
I have a card that is fine, just formatted accidentally. I've tried all the usual data recovery suggestions. All came up with no result. Is there any program that makes it possible to retrieve data from my formatted card? Thanks.
Since you have not put any new data onto your formatted card, there's a great chance you can regain data from your formatted card.
Formatted card recovery is like deleted file recovery: You just need to find data recovery software and use the software to scan your formatted card. Here I highly recommend Wondershare Data Recovery, or Wondershare Data Recovery for Mac for you. It is one of the best data recovery programs that enables you to recover data like photos, videos, audio, document files, etc from formatted card. No matter what kind of memory card you are using, Wondershare Data Recovery is able to help you.
- Recover files in 550+ formats from your computer storage quickly, safely and completely.
- 3 Recovery Modes to help you recover lost files under different situations
- Supports data recovery from recycle bin, hard drive, memory card, flash drive, digital camera and camcoders
- Preview before recovery allows you to do a selective recovery
- Supported OS: Windows 10/8/7/XP/Vista, Mac OS X (Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 Yosemite) on iMac, MacBook, Mac Pro etc.
Now let’s try with Wondershare Data Recovery for Windows users. If you are a Mac user, please download the Mac version.
Step 1 Select Recovery Mode to Perform Formatted Card Recovery
Install Wondershare Data Recovery on your computer. You will see an interface as below shows. Here the program lists 3 recovery modes for you to choose. To recover data from formatted card, let’s select “Lost File Recovery”.
Note: Please be sure that your formatted card can still be recognized by your computer.
Step 2 Select Your Formatted Card to Scan for Lost Files
In this step, the program will display all local hard drives and connect storage devices in your computer. You just need to select the one of your formatted card and click “Start” to scan for lost files.
Step 3 Preview Found Files and Recover Selectively
After the scan, all found files in your formatted card will be displayed in categories or paths. You can preview photos one by one and preview the name of other files so as to check whether they are what you are going to recover or not. You can also search you wanted files by specifying file name in the searching bar.
In the end, select files you want to recover and click “Recover” to save them to your computer. Note: Please do not save the recovered files back to your formatted card after the recovery.
