How to Extract WhatsApp Messages from iPhone Backup

WhatsApp Messenger is a kind of popular smartphone to smartphone messenger. Currently it's available for iPhone, Blackberry, Windows phone and Symbian. Since its emergence, more and more people, especially the young, get it installed on their smartphones and chat with friends by single or in group. You can use it to send text messages, photos, video, and also voice recorder and Emoji. You can also share your current location. It's very convenient especially when you have an appointment. Even more, this WhatsApp Messenger don't charge you any fee for messages. That's another big benefit for users.

When we sync the iPhone with iTunes, we know that iTunes can automatically generate a backup for the data on our iPhones, including messages created by using WhatsApp. What if we want to access and preview the content in the backup file? iTunes doesn't allow us to do it directly, but we can do it through a third-party program. My best recommendation is Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac). It can help to extract all contents in the iTunes backup, so that you can preview them and selectively save them to your computer, including WhatsApp messages and attachments like photos, video and audio messages.

Note: To extract WhatsApp messages from iTunes backup is only a tiny thing that Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS (Mac) can do. You can also use it to extract and export any other data in the backup, as well as scan and recover lost data directly from your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Step 2. Begin recovering your WhatsApp messages

After the scan, all data in the backup will be fully extracted and displayed in categories in the scan result. Clicking WhatsApp on the left side, you'll see all the WhatsApp chat history and the attachments like photos, video and audio messages. It also allows you to recover Emoji contained in the messages. You can preview them one by one to decide which one to recover and which one not. Just tick off the ones you want and click Recover. You can save them all on your computer with one click.
