How to Extract iPhone Contacts to vCard/VCF
Regularly backing up your iPhone contacts is a good habit. You will never lose all your contacts in case your iPhone is lost or broken. We know that iTunes can do backups when we sync iPhone with it (find and view iTunes backup). But, the backup file is inaccessible, and it doesn't allow you to read it in any way. If you can extract iPhone contacts to VCF/vCard, you can easily read and edit it.
To extract iPhone contacts as vCard (VCF) file, you can try the two tool. Step 1. Choose the iPhone backup to extract
To extract iPhone backup contacts, you need to sync your iPhone with iTunes first. Then run the program and go to Recover from iTunes Backup File on the top. Here your iPhone backup files will be scanned and listed. Choose the one with a fresh date and click Start Scan to extract it.
Step 2. Extract iPhone backup contacts to VCF/vCard
More than contacts, all contents in the backup will be extracted after the scan. You can preview them all in the scan result shown below. Check your contacts and click Recover. You can save them as a vCard/VCF file on your computer. Moreover, Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS lets you extract iPhone contacts as a CSV or HTML file.
Step 1. Scan your iPhone for contacts
If you don't want to use iTunes backup, you can use this way to directly extract contacts from your iPhone to a vCard/VCF file. To get started, connect your iPhone to the computer and run the program. The program will present you a window below.
For iPhone 5/4S: Click Start Scan to directly scan your iPhone for contacts on it.
For iPhone 4/3GS, you need to download a plug-in first, and then follow the description to enter the phone's scanning mode:
1. Hold your iPhone, and click Start to begin;
2. Hold Power and Home buttons at the same time for 10 seconds;
3. Release the Power button and keep pressing the Home button for another 15 seconds, until you get into the scanning mode.
After that, Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS will automatically scan your iPhone for data on it and those deleted recently.
Step 2. Extract contacts from iPhone to vCard/VCF file
After the scan, you can preview all data found from your iPhone, including contacts, messages, photos, notes, etc. Check those you want and click Recover. You can extract your iPhone contacts to a vCard/VCF file on your computer now.
Note: If you want to separate deleted contacts, you can use the slide button on the top to "Only display the deleted items".

Step 1. Install and launch TunesGo

Then, the pull-down menu pops up. According to your choice, click "Export Selected Contacts" or "Export All Contacts". After another pull-down menu appears, you should choose "to Multiple vCard Files" or "to a Single vCard File". Browser your computer until you find a location to store the vCard file(s).
