How to Recover Deleted Contacts from Android Phones

Any way to recover deleted contacts from Android?

I've done something stupid! I just wanted to edit one of contacts on my Android phone, but I deleted all of them instead. Now I want them back. Is it possible? I'm using Samsung mini. Thanks in advance.

When you deleted contacts from Android, they were not really gone, but only marked as useless on your phone and could be overwritten by new data. Thus, you'd better stop using your phone after losing your contacts, to ensure a higher rate of recovery.

Now, what you need to do is to perform an Android contacts recovery. First of all, get an Android contacts recovery program: Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android. As the world's first Android contacts recovery software, it allows you to recover deleted contacts directly from Android, as well as messages, photos and video.

Note: Please check your Android device model and the Android OS here before you perform the recovery. Not all Android devices are supported right now by Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android.

Step 1. Connect your Samsung mobile phone to the computer (enable USB debugging)

Launch Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android after you download and install it on your computer, and you'll get the main window below.

Check whether you've enabled USB debugging on your Android device. If not, follow the ways below to set it now:

1) For Android 2.3 or earlier: Enter "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click "Development" < Check "USB debugging"
2) For Android 3.0 to 4.1: Enter "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging"
3) For Android 4.2 or newer: Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until getting a note "You are under developer mode" < Back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging"

Then connect your Android device to the computer and move to the next step.

Step 2. Analyze and scan your Android device for deleted contacts

After your Android device is connected and detected, you'll get a window below. Click "Start" to let the program analyze your device before scanning it.

The analysis will spend you a few seconds. After that, you'll get a window as follows. As the window shows, click "Allow" on your Android device's screen to permit the Superuser Request. Then click "Start" on the program's window to begin the scan.

Step 3. Preview and recover contacts on Android phones

The scan will take you quite a while, but it will remind you when all messages and contacts have been scanned out. Then you can stop it and preview all your contacts. Choose what you want and click "Recover" to save them to your PC.

Note: You must have noticed that contacts in the scan result are displayed in different colors. Actually, those in black are existing contacts on your Android, while the orange ones are those deleted recently. You can use the button above (Only display deleted items) to separate them, if you have a need.

Moreover, if you want to import your contacts back to your Android device, you can use Wondershare MobileGo for Android.

If the program asks you to turn on USB storage, it doesn't support to recover contacts and messages from your device. Can you tell me what kind of device you use and which kind of system it runs? If you use Samsung cell phone, you can root it first and then use Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android to retrieve the contacts and messages.
In fact, if you don't have the SuperUser program installed on your phone, it's normal that you didn't get the "Allow" option on your phone. You can directly scan your phone for data on it.
