It's a smart all-in-one app — AllMyTube for Mac (AllMyTube for Win), which can download and convert online YouTube videos to AVI with good quality. Plus, this app allows you to import the local YouTube FLV files to convert to AVI format.
This guide below shows Mac users how to download and convert YouTube to AVI in two part. If you just want to convert YouTube videos stored on PC to AVI, just start from the Part 2. For Windows users, you can also refer to the guide here, for the steps on both platforms are extraordinarily similar.
Step 1: Open the Safari browser, go to YouTube, and then find and play your favorite videos.
Step 2: You have three options to download YouTube videos:
- A floating download icon will appear at the top of each video once this app has detected video stream. To download, click this button.
- From the main menu, go to "Downloads">"Enter a URL" to copy the URL of the video playing.
- Directly drag the video URL icon from the address bar to this app icon on the dock.
Note: This app allows you to download YouTube videos online for free.
Step 1: In this app's library, immediately you tick the boxes before the video items you want to convert, the "Convert" button at the lower-right corner of the interface will become clickable. Just click it to open its output format window.
If your YouTube FLV files are stored in Mac, you can go to "Library" > "Add FLV files to Library" to import them for video conversion.
Note: The free version doesn't support video conversion. You have to update it for further operation.
Step 2: When you enter into its output format window, you need to select "AVI" in "Video Format" as the output format. And then click "Convert" to convert YouTube to AVI.
When the conversion is over, you can get AVI files with the same multimedia content in the output folder.
