2 Ways to Embed YouTube Playlists

Still embedding YouTube videos on a web page one by one? In fact, you have other ways to do it, by creating a YouTube playlist and embed using the methods described in this article. There are many advantages to embed YouTube playlist to a web page instead of multiple videos. First, it saves the web page space and visitors don't need to scroll down to watch the next YouTube videos. Secondly, it will reduce the web page size because only one embed code will be used, hence faster page loading. Third, the videos will be played continuously without any interruption.

There is only one disadvantage - you must learn how to embed a YouTube playlist to the website. But after reading this article, you will see how easy it is. Check it out.

First, you'll need a YouTube playlist. See how to create a YouTube Playlist here for Christmas or any other uses. To make your own YouTube videos, learn about the Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder >>

Method 1: Using IFRAME Code to Embed YouTube Playlist

The new style or embedding code onto YouTube playlist begins with "<iframe...". Here is how you can get the YouTube playlist embed code.

1. Go to the Playlists section of your account.

2. Select the playlist you'd like to embed.

3. Click Share and next Embed to show the playlist embed code.

4. Copy the embed code.

5. Paste the embed code into your website or blog.

Watch a sample YouTube playlist embedded using the IFRAME code.

Below is the example of IFRAME's embedding code. If you know what the YouTube playlist URL is, just change the PLAYLIST ID to suit your needs before embedding the code onto website.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLAYLISTID&hl=en_US" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Method 2: Using Old Code to Embed YouTube Playlist

While the IFRAME method is simple, some browsers and services doesn't support this tag. Under such circumstances, you'll have to switch to the old embed code.

Since it's not provided by YouTube, you can simply copy the code below and change the "Playlist ID" to your need. Please remember to change the width and height parameters if necessary.

 <object width="560" height="315">
 <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/p/PlaylistID"></param>
 <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
 <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
 <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/p/PlaylistID" width="560" height="315"
 type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always"
 allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Tips: The Difference Between the 2 Methods

The IFRAME embed code supports both Flash and HTML5 video while the older style of embed code begins with "<object..." and only support Flash playback. By the way, the "<embed..." is meant for Internet Explorer.

I've found that Method 2 above, to use older embedding code without iframe, does not work. However, upon further research I found a way to embed a playlist without iframe that does work: Enter the ID number of your playlist and adjust the height and width specifications as desired.

thank you thank you thank you! I had the hardest time finding information on how to wade through youtube stuff, I was lucky to have googled the right thing today :) One thing I haven't been able to find how to do is stop the automatic sequential playing of videos from my channel. I had embedded a video onto a page on my website and once the initial video had finished playing it went through all the other videos I had downloaded! That is why I ended up making a playlist.

Sorry Shashank, you can only change the width and height of the player.

That object code dont work for me. It just gives me a white out box instead of my playlist. iFrame does not even appear.
