Hi, I can't figure out how to convert to AVCHD... there simply isn't the option in the software to do this, even though this article suggests that it's possible: "This article shows you how to convert AVCHD to other formats or to convert others to AVCHD on both Windows and Mac... "
Hello, this video converter supports lossless conversion. Your original file quality will 100% preserved. As you said, it performs a 'rewrap'.

Does the software transcode AVCHD to MP4, or does it perform a 'rewrap' (write MP4 headers, and copy H.264 and audio stream without decompress/recompress cycle)? Transcode involves a generational loss in quality, while a rewrap does not.
