iTunes is the control center of all your Apple devices like iPod, iPhone and iPad. But iTunes doesn't allow you to manage photos. So how can you transfer photos to Mac without iTunes and sync imported photos to iPad? You will get the answer in this article.

Easy Steps to Transfer Photos from iPhone to iPad

To transfer photos from iPhone to iPad, there is not the direct way. You need to frist transfer photos to your computer and then sync photo to iPad. This solution is suitable for all Apple portable devices, including iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, etc. That means you can view iPhone 4S photos on iPad without any hassle.

Drag and Drop iPhone Photos to Mac

To transfer photos from iPhone to Mac, TransPod Lite for Mac is recommended. With it, you only need to connect your iPhone to Mac with supplied USB cable. And your photos would be automatically detected and displayed in thumbnail. Then simply drag and drop photos to desktop or any folder in Finder. In this example, we will create a folder named "iPhone2iPad" on desktop, and copy iPhone photo there before transfer to iPad.

Tips: To import all iPhone photos to Mac, select all photos prior to moving. You could use Command + A to select all photos.

Sync Photos from Mac to iPad

Next, it's the show time for the powerful iTunes. Disconnect your iPhone from Mac and connect iPad instead. Then follow these instructions to transfer photo to iPad.

1.Select it your iPad in Devices catalog and go to Photos tab.

2.Check the option "Sync photos from:" and select "Choose folder".

3.In the pop-up dialog, select your folder that stores the imported iPhone photos, here we go to Desktop/iPhone2iPad folder. Click Choose.

4.The number of photos will be display to the right. Click "Apply" in the bottom left corner.

5.Wait for syncing photos to iPad.

6.Done.

Notice: you can't delete photos synced with iTunes directly on iPad. To delete these photos, you need return to your computer, delete the photos you don't want anymore from the sync folder, and sync again.
